You have gotta be kidding!

We live in an absurd world. This site is dedicated to the most ridiculous things that I can find out there. It should be a wild ride.

Unarmed guardsmen on the border?

Well, here we go again. The talk was about putting the National Guard on the border to help secure it. The idea isn't totally without merit and could even help alleviate some of the problems. But, as always happens when politicians try to play both sides, they screwed it up again. They are talking of putting them on the border, but not arming them.

I can't believe that they are really serious.
  1. They are trained as professional soldiers
  2. They are expected to know, for their profession, when it is appropriate to use force and when it isn't.
  3. They will be sitting in some of the most volatile real estate in the country, without any means to protect themselves.
  4. They will just be a target, and anyone who wants to make a statement will have a ready made forum.

This is a joke. It is eye wash to make the pro "stop illegal immigration" people think that they are doing something while at the same time ensure that the pro "let 'em all in" people don't feel threatened and think they are winning.

Holy crap, Mr. President. Just take a stand and lead the country. Quit trying to make both sides happy. If you can't make a stand and be a leader, then get out of the way and let someone else do it. These half measures just make everyone angry and accomplish nothing. ON TOP OF THAT, THEY ARE VERY DANGEROUS!

Fast Food Regulated?

You've gotta be kidding? There is now talk of regulating the fast food industry. The next big war on... is going to be the war on obesity.

What are they going to do, restrict sales of french fries to only those over 21? I can see it now, the lawyers are going to start suing the fast food chains like they went after the tobacco companies.

Get a grip, people! As one who fights and struggles daily against obesity, I can tell you, regulating fast food isn't going to do it. It's going to take a lifestyle change, not 11 million dollars from Burger King (though the 11 million dollars sounds pretty good).

This smacks as another way for lawyers to make it rich. There are so many of them running around they have to come up with new and diverse lawsuits to make it and be able to afford those multi-level houses in Malibu. It's not right to sue the restaurant because Joe Schmucatelly eats there daily. The answer is to educate and work with Schmucatelly, not pay him millions of someone else's money to reward his lack of self control.

Enough ranting for one day. Here is a link to the news story that caused me to go off like this.

Well, they sure showed us.

How about that deal yesterday? Hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens took to the streets to DEMAND rights that they don't have. They sure showed us! Yep, they showed us that we really need to do something to get them the hell out of the country and make way for those who are willing to do it the right way. They keep referring to themselves as immigrants, but the keep forgetting to put the modifier on it - ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS.

The issue they want to bring out is valid. Immigration reform is needed. We need to make it easier for those willing to do it the right way. At the same time we need stiffer penalties for those who break the law by sneaking in. That's right, we need to ensure we DON'T reward those ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS while at the same time reward those who go through the correct process. Letting these people stay would be a slap in the face to every immigrant or immigrant hopeful who went through the process. Don't punish the law-abiders while rewarding the law-breakers.

Who is boycotting what?

You have got to be kidding! The day of boycott has begun. Let's look at this for a moment.

Who is doing the boycott? The people who are in the country ILLEGALLY are doing the boycott. They are holding rallies, they are holding marches, they are planning human chains, etc. These people, who broke the law to get here, are now demanding that we legalize them! They keep claiming that they are going to show that immigrants build contribute to the country. What's to show? We already know that immigrants contribute to the country, that is why we let so many of them in every year. These people who jumped the border are not immigrants, they are not "undocumented" they are ILLEGAL ALIENS. They broke the law to get here and now they are trying to force us to accept that fact.

Why do we let them get away with it? If they are gathering in groups for marches and protests it just makes it easier for our agents. Round 'em up at the marches and protests and human chains. Regardless of their race or ethnicity they do not have the right to be here unless they have gone through the process.
